Yesterday's wedding at Lido Beach Resort was a washout as far as the beach was concerned.  We started the ceremony on the sand under a beautiful arch only to have lightening send us indoors.  We tried to wait for the sky to clear, but it just didn't happen as the dark clouds and lightening persisted.  So we held the rest of the ceremony inside and had a great time.  When the ceremony was over, everyone was able to go to a covered alcove adjacent to the pool for the cocktail hour.

Can rain put a damper on a ceremony?  The answer is, "Yes, if you let it."  We had fun despite the change in plans.  I had many comments about how meaningful, heartfelt and delightful the ceremony was.  Mission accomplished...rain or shine!  Here's to many more sunny days than rainy days here in our Sarasota Paradise.  Rev. Busy Weekend

There were more than just fireworks at the beach this past weekend...there were beach weddings!  Both my hubby Rich and I were busy helping couples "tie the knot."  One ceremony was an elopement and I also conducted a Baby Blessing (Baptism) at the beach which was lovely and fun.

Typically, the summer months are a slower time for us, but this year there are many couples who will find joy in marrying here in the Greater Sarasota/Bradenton area.  I guess it's because it is so beautiful here all year 'round.  If you live here or have ever visited our area, you know what I'm talking about.

So..to our couples who are blessed to find the beauty of our beaches, we welcome you!
Until next time,
Georgeann

What Rain?

Yesterday was a wonderful day for Sarasota Dream Weddings!  My husband Rich officated at a beach wedding on Siesta Key for Kasey & Adam who were lucky enough to have their ceremony take place between bouts of rain.  I was the Officiant and Day-of Coordinator for Sarah & Steve who tied the knot in grand style! I officiated their ceremony at Bay Preserve at Historic Spanish Point where Gilly Francis worked very hard to move the ceremony indoors.  We were a little squeezed, but that didn't stop us from having a lovely ceremony.  Then on to Mattison's 41 where we had a tented dinner and dancing in The Galleria.  Paul Mattison and his staff worked hard to turn out a delicious dinner (I loved my Chicken Marsala).  The service was seamless and everyone had a wonderful time.  Beneva Flowers created an over-the-top beautiful cascade bouquet for Sarah and stunningly beautiful centerpieces that were fresh and vibrant.  Randy at Twin DJ's kept the place rockin' and Devon and Mark from Plush Foto caught all the action and fun.

Like I said...What rain?  It didn't put a damper on any of the fun!

We came to the rescue!

We had a call on Thursday from Beneva Flowers asking if we could help out a couple who were on the road driving down from Ohio to be married on Siesta Key on Saturday.  I didn't hesitate to say, "Yes...have her call me."  Her officiant backed out at the last minute and I wouldn't let them be disappointed.  So after performing a ceremony on Longboat Key, I drove to Siesta Key and performed an elopement for Julie and David.  What fun we had!  Beneva Flowers set up a beautifully decorated arch and a matching bouquet for the Bride.  It was a romantic sunset event with many beachgoers standing around cheering as I pronounced them Husband and Wife.  Thanks to Beneva Flowers for going above and beyond to make sure this couple had such a lovely wedding experience.

Here's a wedding pic from a ceremony I performed on April 1st at The BeachHouse on Anna Maria Island.  Please take a look at the flower girl...she was not the least bit interested in what was going on!  What a sweetie.  The couple is from Las Vegas and came to our area to tie the knot.

Fun Couple Clowns Around

I had so much fun with Dedra and Darren! AJ Mills Photography http://www.ajmillsphotography.net/ were there to capture the fun. When the couple broke out the clown noses, I decided to join in the fun.

Bill Buckley played the bagpipes to help celebrate - it was a surprise for the Groom.
